על החידושים:

They've thrown out all the old mini-games and started from the ground-up to create 50 totally new ones. There is also team play available, so you can choose to play two-on-two instead it randomly happening in the free-for-all mode. In addition to this, the board game mechanics have been mixed up a bit. In each of the five planned available boards you'll be able to collect power-up mushrooms that turn you big or small. In oversized form you'll be able to stomp coins from your opponents if you pass over them, and when you're pint-sized you'll be able to sneak into secret areas. Additionally, the game seems to move a little faster, which is a big plus in our books. The board game is a nice vessel, but every Mario Party fan knows it's all about the mini-games.

והנה משפט חביב - Don’t get the wrong impression, this isn’t just the same old MK supped with enhanced graphics and a few additions, it’s practically an entirely new game. Midway has abandoned almost everything from the franchise, the fighting system, the visuals, and possibly even a lot of the former staff. Forget everything you knew or think you knew about Mortal Kombat because this is a whole new game with a whole new feel.

The number of fighters that will appear in the final make of the game is still unconfirmed. Some of the characters have gone through major makeovers while some remain the same for the most part. Especially Raiden who isn’t recognizable at all, but looks a whole lot better. Here is a list of some of the characters you will see in the final version of MK: Deadly Alliance.

הגרפיקה -
MK: Deadly Alliance looks great when translated into the world of 3D. Usually fighting games such as these tend to look very impressive -- after all, there are only two characters on screen at a time. The developers have a lot of leeway and a lot to work with and can concentrate the number of polygons on the fighters and backgrounds. Each character is crafted with an impressive 7000 polygons each meaning less blocky ness and more rounded figures, a plus for the women fighters. I don’t know, Subzero’s arm is seemingly quite blocky in the pick below. Midway promises real time damage, fighters will suffer bruises, ripped clothing, scratches and so forth throughout the match. The levels themselves will contain moving elements such as acid and lava flowing, or torches flaming in the background.
I think many would agree that the most important graphical entity would be blood, and lost of blood. Midway has recognized this and is taking blood effects to new heights. You will see blood splatter everywhere as you and you opponent kick the ass out of each other, spilling and gushing on the ground and all over you. But it won’t just stay there as a static pool of blood, you can even step in it and slop it around with your feet, really cool. And the longer the blood stays on the ground the more it will soak into the level darkening the ground around it. Just like the effect seen in the Resident Evil remake. So far the game looks great but only in motion can we experience the visuals. I can’t wait to see the blood effects and the real time damage in action.

ולבסוף -

The Mortal Kombat franchise has always appealed to a large variety of gamers, for reasons that are obvious. As degrading as it may be we love the gore, we crave it, we want more and we can’t get enough. Maybe it’s the sight of blood that gets us all revved up or maybe seeing someone’s head pop of fills a void in our lives. What ever the reason maybe Mortal Kombat has it all and then some. I myself am quite surprised that Midway has decided to completely redo its franchise. It’s typically a new game. The feature that appeals most to me is the ability to change fighting styles -- this is a very ingenious and intuitive addition and I can’t wait to see it in action. If you have been a fan of the MK franchise but have strayed away because of its aging gameplay, you might want to jump back on the band wagon because this just might be what you’ve been waiting for.
