דווקא בוועידה נגד אלימות במשחקים (העמותה שלאף אחד לא איכפת ממנה), מטאל גיר סוליד 2 נבחר לאחד המשחקים האלימים, שעדיף שהורים לא ייקנו לילדיהם, יחד עם GTA3. זה היה מזמן... איך אני זוכר את זה?

אם כבר מדברים על משחקים מטרידים, אני מוצא את סיילנט היל הרבה יותר מטריד מרזידנא איבל.

ברזידנט איבל, הקטע של המשחק הוא כמו BOO אחד גדול בשביל להפחיד.
סיילנט היל, הקטע הוא "אוקיי... תפסיקו עם זה ". וזה יותר מטריד.

February 28, 2003 - Earlier this week unsubstantiated online reports surfaced which suggested that publisher Konami Entertainment was in development with a Metal Gear Solid title for Nintendo's next-generation console.
Today Konami Japan confirmed the news.

The company's Japanese public relations representative Scott Dolph told Bloomberg this morning that while a Metal Gear Solid game is scheduled for GameCube, no release date has been set. No further details were offered.

Konami's Metal Gear Solid franchise is action-based and follows hero Solid Snake as he uses his wide arsenal of moves and weapons to take down foes. With impressive graphics and play mechanics, the firm's latest in the series, Metal Gear Solid 2, was a top-seller for PlayStation 2.

Whether or not the still-mysterious GameCube MGS title will in fact be a port of the already-released PS2 game is still unknown. The title will, regardless, mark Solid Snake's debut on Nintendo's system.

Konami USA's website, in official message board postings, has recently hinted that the publisher would show off some of its bigger franchises for GameCube at the Electronics Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles this May. It's highly possible with that in mind that Metal Gear Solid for GameCube will debut at the event.

Gran Turismo 4

SCEE insiders doubt Polyphony racers chance of open play – must read!

According to Sony Europe insiders, Gran Turismo 4 will not be playable on the firm’s stand this year, in news that comes as a great shock.

From what we have been told, GT4 will be shown either in video form, or behind closed doors to selected press, as the game just won’t be ready in time.

Other details we can reveal at this time include the fact that again, the game will not feature any car damage, surely a shame in this day and age. Then there’s the fact that this instalment will feature more cars and more manufacturers than any other outing. Touted inclusions are Porsche and Ferrari.

The reasoning behind not showing GT4 code was said to be down to the development team undertaking such a massive game. It was confirmed to us that the game will be entirely online, with all players ranked on experience.

This will mean that, in Gran Turismo mode, you will race against other players of the same, or similar experience, from around the world, as you progress through the game. Cars will be tradeable, and the game will include organised tournament races, as well as the ability to ride with other players, enjoying their in-car views.

Arcade mode will feature a globally ranked league of racers, with drop-in and play chatrooms as a back-end.

And it’s this that has caused the development delay. Gran Turismo 4 is going to be the perfect racer, in every sense, and its scale is proving to be a bit of a problem, at least in terms of delivering a playable version for this May.

Indeed, we have been told that the game is likely to be out in Japan in mid 2004, leaving us to presume that the European version will arrive several months after.

Of course, we’ll bring you more on this massive story as we get it.

And according to Nintendo, he’s personally involved.

During his visit to Europe, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto blurted out, to the amazement of all, that he is co-developing a Metal Gear Solid game with Konami for the GameCube.

No further details were given, though the general consensus is that a remake of the original PlayStation game, along with a fat load of extras, is on the cards.

Amazingly, both Konami and Nintendo have confirmed the story this morning.

So the waiting game commences, with the eyes of the world focused intently on the revelations to come in Los Angeles Convention Center this May. So, unless Miyamoto spills more beans in the meantime, we’ll let you know then.
