"I'm hoping that the GameCube version will [release] at the same time in all countries, although it really depends on when Nintendo is going to launch its online services ... There are other technical problems as well, but that's what I'm aiming for. PSO is designed to be an online game, although there is a chance the game will come out before online [play through a GameCube] is ready.

"You can play with four players as split-screen, so there is a possibility for the game to come out first and people will still be able to play multi-player without the online service. I'm trying very hard to talk to Nintendo so that the modem will come out the same time as the game."

במקום לחכות למידע שיפול אליך מגן עדן, תקרא את הרשמים של IGN למשל:

Starting at the top, we're sure you're wondering, "What wrestlers were available?" Unfortunately, the developers still felt inclined to tease us with just a few wrestlers: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, The Rock and Triple H. There were roughly 30 or so other question marks holding spots for upcoming wrestlers. We were told THQ is estimating a total of 42 wrestlers. In this version of X8, each wrestler looked surprisingly like their real life counterparts. This is one of the better elements that X8 has going for it. Everything from height to build accurately reflects the real wrestlers. Of course the look of the game isn't what's most important, but it certainly helps. The gameplay, which has seen several improvements since we first played it January this year, is fast, furious, and intuitive. As we previously noted, it plays a lot like the old N64 versions of WrestleMania 2000 and WWF No Mercy -- two titles that are regarded as some of the best wrestling videogames released. With the updated version of X8, we got an even better feel for this.

X8 on GameCube is grapple-heavy. Its whole intention is to bring fast-paced action and lots of grappling to the gamers' fingertips. To do this Yuke's has nailed down a very familiar control scheme. The A-button is used to perform a grapple move. Pressing in different directions with the analog stick performs different slams and throws. If you press the A-button in conjunction with the Y-button, you can throw your opponent into the ropes to perform a subsequent move. Conversely, you can run with the Y-button to get out of the way of other wrestlers or catapult yourself off the ropes. The B-button is used to punch, kick, and attack. Running in combination with a B-button attack will, of course, result in a moving attack. When you knock an opponent onto the canvas or floor you can perform submission holds and other moves with the A-button, while the B-button is reserved for kicks, elbow drops, and other equivalents. Like with most other wrestling titles, you can always take the opportunity to climb up on the turnbuckles and fly onto your awaiting opponents. If you wear them down long enough, you can pin with the Z-trigger.

New added depth to the control scheme comes in the form of reversals. The R-trigger is reserved for reversing grapples, whereas the L-trigger is used for turning punches and similar attacks around. Good timing is the required, otherwise as you can imagine it would become a reversal fest. At the same time, it's also not so difficult that it's a rare thing. It's a good balance that will hopefully be tweaked a little more as the title nears completion.

What would a wrestling videogame be without specials, though? Naturally Yuke's has implemented a specials system which requires you build up momentum. If you continually pull off good move sets and avoid getting whooped on too much, you will begin to fill up a set of three special "slots." Once all three are full, you can perform your signature moves by setting your opponent up and pressing the A and B-button in conjunction. We mangled to pull off a lot of Pedigrees in our time with the game, so it seems the team still needs to balance it out a bit. Either way, it's very fun, though.

Really, the grapple system and speed of X8 is where its appeal lies. It feels a lot like the previous N64 titles from THQ and this is a very good thing. Ametuers can jump right into the game with results, and seasoned veterans have enough to explore with special moves and reversals. That said, we're still highly anticipating X8 for its upcoming June release. It's exclusive to GameCube and something all wrestling fans should keep an eye out for.

ואולי תתחילו להגיב כבר?!..אני מנסה להעביר עמוד כדיי לשים פה תמונות חדשות מ Burnout ואתם מגיבים בת'רדים מטומטמים במקום פה..תגדיו משהו! אין תגובות על הביקןרות?

והנה שאלה ותשובה מדאיגה מאד שלקוחה ממדור The Spot מגיים ספוט. לא רציתי לפתוח נושא חדש, ואין נושא שעוסק בדברים הללו, אז החלטתי לפרסם זאת כאן:

I was recently patrolling through the GameSpot forums and found an interesting post regarding the future of Star Fox Adventures on the GameCube. Now mind you, this isn't the first time this rumor has popped up, so my curiosity was definitely sparked by the rediscovery. It said that Microsoft was negotiating a buyout of Rare, and the reason for the most recent delay was because of this and the possibility of the game being moved over to the Xbox. This would really hurt me as a GameCube owner, and I'm sure it would hurt Nintendo as well.

Man, people are so gullible. Nintendo owns the Star Fox property. A Star Fox game will never appear on the Xbox. . Now, as for those rumors about Rare, the company's holiday cards did have an Xbox and a PlayStation 2 on them...
