They also only gave shenmue to a 7.6 - They must be on crack or that port might just suck. Never know with sega....

on Shenmue:
+They liked the number of the mini-games
+More tightly designed gameplay
+Still beautiful in some instances
+immersive world w/ lots to do

-looks too much like a DC port, esp Textures and character models
-bad voice acting
-controls could've been customized for Xbox better

They pretty much said it's good... especially for Shenmue fans... but if you weren't into the first, the 2nd isn't for you. If you havne't played the first, you'll probably be lost...

I thought a disk cam e with it with a movie of the first one? OXM is on crack!

BTW ghost recon got a 9.

My advise to you and all gamers is don't put too much stock in what other people think, especially when it comes to something as subjective as this. You will know if it feels good to you and makes you laugh or enjoy some quality play time with a friend. You be the judge.

The koins you earn are color coded for a reason. When you go to spend them in the Krypt (like Superman's domicile) you're actually buying one of over 600 total koffins for specific amounts of koins in a specific color. Buying a koffin for 276 red koins will give you something completely different than a koffin for 139 blue koins but you will begin to recognize patterns in the koffin inventory. Cost, color and the quality of goodies are all interrelated in that you can eventually guess where all the cool Raiden stuff is hidden, for example, so you can save and spend accordingly.

If you haven't touched an MK game since '92, then you'll be pleased to know that there's a renewed focus on fatalities in Deadly Alliance. Once the control sequence has been entered the arena turns dark except for a tight spotlight on the two combatants. The fatalities themselves have multiple stages of violence before finally putting the sucker out of his misery. Sub Zero takes his time after knocking a victim's head off before reaching deep into the remaining torso and pulling out an unrecognizable organ and holding it over his head. It's too big too be a heart but not quite large enough to be an intestine. Liver is a good guess.

It took me awhile to write this so I hope you enjoy it. I will never read Gamespot again, but not "just because". I have compiled a list of reviews that are beyond bias....they just don't make sense. Everybody ready? I wrote this for all you Gamespot haters, and for all those people who were thinking about hating them.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
PS2: 6.6
Xbox: 6.4

The Xbox game is the same, but with enhanced visuals and much better loading time. Considering the PS2 was severely hindered by the loading time and that was its biggest complaint, then shouldn't the elimination of that main issue warrant ATLEAST an equal score? Like I said, this is beyond calling GS bias...I'm talking just wierd unexplainable stuff.

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy
PS2: 6.2
Xbox: 5.1

Yes this is a crappy game. Atleast it runs slightly better on the Xbox. Shouldn't the score be equal?

Knockout Kings 2002
PS2: 8.4
Xbox: 8.3

Same great game....Xbox has better graphics and runs a little smoother. Looks better, runs smoother? Minus 0.1 for that mister!

Madden 2003
PS2: 9.0
Xbox: 8.6

NOW, this one I defended for a few minutes. i figured GS took points away for the lack of online play and gave points to the PS2 for the option to play online. WRONG! Read on to find out why that formula just doesn't work.

NFL 2k3
PS2: 9.6
Xbox: 9.1

See how the formula doesn't work? Instead of the PS2 version being penalized for lack of online play, it is given a higher score than the Xbox version which DOES offer online play. Do I need to mention the Xbox version looks better? Plus you'll get roster updates and stuff through LIVE. So....why does the PS2 have a .5 edge?

Timesplitters 2

Xbox: 8.7

The Xbox version not only offers better visuals, it also has system link. Now the PS2 has system link too, but god knows how to hook up multiple PS2 systems. (Meaning more than 2)

Tony Hawk 4

Xbox: 9.3

Based off the Madden/NFL 2K3 formula, thus proving there is no formula, then the whole online play thing should have no barring on the rating. Yet the Xbox version which supports System Link and looks the best gets the lower score.

I hope you enjoyed this thread. I did a lot of page switching. Now there are some games that the Xbox did have higher scores. Max Payne and Blood Omen 2 being a few examples. That really doesn't explain the above reviews though you know?

Is this a Gamespot diss? Well take it for what it's worth. I mean these are real scores and I personally can't explain them. They just don't make sense in my opinion.

Oh, and one more thing. Quantum Redshift, gamespot gave it a 7.1. Now how many futuristic racers are on the xbox that we know of 1 and that is Quantum Redshift but it uses all of the features of the xbox except system link and Xbox live(for shame, microsoft) and it has 16 crafts and tracks. the tracks enviroment are a different from other known futuristic racers, a rival system in the game as well as in other games the option to use you own soundtracks. That is not including the sense of speed in the higher levels is unparalled. But gamespot says that it has nothing new which means they are comparing it to Wipeout and other futuristic racers which are on the PS2 not xbox. The score should have been higher and I didn't say it should have been a 10 or a 9.5 but higher than a 7.1

מבחינת הבוקס...IGN מחוקים אצלי,הם הוכיחו אין ספור פעמים שהם פשוט חסרי כל שמץ של אוביקטיביות,בעניין הביקורות,אולי זה פשוט כי השליטה בגרסאות הפס2 יותר נוחה בגלל השלט...הערכה שלי.

No, the Japanese software houses are not happy with the sales and hype for the Xbox because there are neither for the system. I would say that there will not be much Xbox development in the future from Japanese houses.

And by the way, I have heard some bad rumors regarding Xbox and, in particular, future Sega for it.

בקשר להשוואה שעשית למכירות של VC - היא לא ממש הוגנת לדעתי. אני לא חושב שיש איזשהו משחק שיכול אפילו לדגדג אותו במכירות... גם אם MGS3 או FF12 היו יוצאים עכשיו הם לא היו מתקרבים למכירות שלו.

In their quest to be the best, they must take their creations to the track and race against the world's most elite auto manufacturers.

As a simulation style racer, APEX will challenge players to execute real world racing techniques. The title of the game is a racing term that refers to the perfect line a driver should take to execute a turn. To "hit the apex" is to take a turn at the optimal angle. Taking correct racing lines and powering through turns are techniques that will achieve success in APEX.

Technically, APEX will far surpass the competition in the genre. Leveraging the power of Xbox, the developer is producing amazingly high polygon counts, long draw distances and highly detailed environments. Cars will feature up to 11,000 polygons each and real-time reflections while tracks will boast around 500,000 polygons for stunning panoramic detail and beauty. Additionally, the vehicle engine sounds have been captured from real world high performance cars to further enhance authenticity.

The game boasts more than 70 vehicles, with both licensed and original designs. Each vehicle is equipped with numerous performance enhancements and adjustments that allow the player to tailor the vehicle for each competition's track design and conditions. A complex damage model lends reality to each crash.

Races will take place across more than 50 varied environments based on real-world locations across three continents -- North America, Europe and Asia. Course designs range from winding mountain roads to narrow city streets to standard racetracks. Each track features unique characteristics that will keep players tuning and perfecting their creations for optimum performance before each encounter.

APEX will be unique in its detailed story mode that will provide gamers with a role-playing element unseen in other titles in the genre. The story will progress through cinematics and will vary based on decisions the player makes regarding the auto factory and the performance on the track. Sophisticated AI will make snap decisions based on the situation at hand and add tough competition in every race.

APEX will feature several styles of play that lead to hours of varied gameplay in both single and two-player multiplayer modes. טוב יש אנשים שהיו להם ספקות בנוגע למשחק זה.. אבל אחרי ששיחקתי בו! זה משחק השנה מבחינתי אני יודע שעוד לא שיחקתי ב מטל גיר סוליד שגם אני חולה על הסידרה הזאת אבל אין מה לעשות ספלינטר סל משחק ענק!!!
אני יודע שקראתם על הגרפיקה המדהימה שלו ואני לא האמנתי אחרי שראיתי את כל האורות ואת האש ורמת הפירוט של כל דבר! פשוט ענק ומדהים!!! אתה יכול להשתמש בכל דבר כמעט ולזרוק כך דבד כמעט.. האיכות של המשחק פשוט מדהימה!
וממה שהופתעתי זאת העלילה... פשוט ענק!
יש לך משימות אני במשימה הראשונה כי זה משחק קשה!!! נותנים לך מספר משימות וזה שלב ממש ממש ארוך וגדול.. בשלב הראשון אתה צריך לבצא חלק מהדברים שלמדת באימון שגם פשוט היה ענק!!! אני יתן לכם דוגמא: למשל אתה יכול להתגנב מאחורי מישהו ולחקור אותו לגבי קום מסויים שאתה צריך להקיש או למשל להצמיד את העין שלו לסורק שיתן לך לפתוח דלת מסויימת דברים פשוט מדהימים!!! זה משחק פשוט ענק הייתי בשוק שראיתי כמה טוב המשחק הזה!!!!
הגמפליי נפלא גם כן כמו כל המשחק! השליטה ממש מצויינת ונוחה. בקיצור משחק השנה בנתיים!!!

משחק מצויין, הרבה יותר טוב מקודמו.. יש שלבים יותר גדולים הרבה יותר קומבויים.. הרבה יותר תרגילים ושליטה הרבה יותר נוחה.., כמו כן אין יותר הקצבת זמן ואתה מדבר אם אנשים שהם מביאים לך את המשימות שזה ראיון ממש גיאוני ויפה.. יש יותר מקומות סודיים, יש יותר דברים לקנות, יותר משתתפים..
בקיצור משחק חובה לחובבי הזאנר!

זה משחק שבאמת הייתי מופתע שראיתי ושיחקתי בו..
הגרפיקה יפה מאד! והקהל והסביבה הם הכי יפות שראיתי במשחק איגרוף כלשהי.. באמת יפה..
הגמפליי קליל וכיף ומשלב גם קומבויים מגניבים..
המוזיקה כמובן מהסרטים של רוקי..
עכשיו לדבר הטוב במשחק .. ה story mode שלו פשוט נפלא! אתה יכול לשחק ולחזור ל רוקי 1 2 3 4 .. ולשחק ולהלחם שם.. כמו כן האימון שם מגניב ביותר! אתה מרביץ לבשר ואימוני כושר וכל זה.. באמת יפה!
המשחק כולל 40+ מתמודדים!!!!! שזה באמת מדהים!

משחק יפה לחובבי הזאנר..
גרפיקה יפה.האפקטים של ההתנגשויות מדהימות
המסלולים יפיםף יש בערך 30-25 מסלולים! אבל אין הרבה מכוניות דבר שעצבן אותי..
הגמפליי יפה ובאמת משקף את מירוצי הראלי..
בהחלט משחק יפה אבל האבתי יותר את RALLY SPORT..

NBA INSIDE DRIVE 2003

משחק שכרגע אני הכי הרבה משחק בו!!!
פשוט ענק!!! אין לי מושג למה הוא מקבל ציונים פחות טובים מלייב ו 2k3.. מבחינה אנימציות חשבתי ש 2k3 שולט אבל אחרי שראיתי את אינסייד זה פשוט מדהים!!!
הגמפליי שופר בצורה מדהימה! כבר אין יותר הרבה חסימות אם שחקן ואין הרבה חטיפות.. ההטבעות והליי אפים מדהימים!!!!
מבחינה גרפית הוא דומה לשנה שעברה אבל עדיין נראה הכי טוב מבין השלושה..
הוסיפו לו גם אימון ו franchise mode ובקיצור זה משחק הכדוסל הכי טוב שיש נקודה!!!!!!!

TRANSWORLD SNOWBOARDING

משחק נחמד ציפיתי ליותר..
גרפיקה יפה... במיוחד השלג והאורות.. הגמפליי גם נחמד אבל המשחק עצמו לא משהו..

אני מחר יפרסם עוד כמה רשמים ממשחקים אחרים..
